XPERT PROFIBER CW ADHESIVE

DESCRIPTION
XPERT PROFIBER CW ADHESIVE is a 100% solids, low viscosity epoxy resin designed specifically to encapsulate XPERT PROFIBER carbon, glass, and aramid fiber fabrics. When combined with these fiber reinforcements, it cures to form a high-performance Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) laminate. This laminate significantly enhances the structural strength of concrete, masonry, steel, and wood elements. The adhesive’s low odor and low VOC formulation make it suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
BENEFITS
The XPERT PROFIBER CW ADHESIVE offers excellent mechanical properties including high tensile, flexural, and compressive strength, ensuring durability and long-term performance. It exhibits strong adhesion to various substrates, facilitating effective reinforcement. The product features an extra-long pot life, providing ample working time for application. Its moderate viscosity allows easy impregnation of fabrics while being suitable for vertical and overhead surfaces. Additionally, it is easy to mix and apply, either manually or mechanically, and is formulated with low odor and low VOCs, making it user-friendly and environmentally conscious
PACKAGING
The adhesive is typically supplied in units suitable for field use (such as 1-gallon kits), containing Part A (resin) and Part B (hardener) components to be mixed on site. The product should be stored in cool, shaded areas away from direct sunlight to maintain quality and extend shelf life. It is important to use the adhesive within the working time based on ambient temperature, and any unused catalyzed material must not be stored for later use.
APPLICATION
Before applying the adhesive, surfaces should be prepared with XPERT EP-100 primer, which can be fully cured or partially cured (tack-free) before sanding and cleaning to remove dust and contaminants. The adhesive is mixed in a 2:1 volume ratio (Part A resin to Part B hardener), ensuring thorough mixing with a low-speed drill and paddle to avoid air entrapment. Application involves rolling or brushing a wet film thickness of 18 to 22 mils onto the substrate, immediately followed by placing the XPERT PROFIBER fabric into the wet adhesive before it becomes tacky. A second adhesive layer is applied over the fabric to complete the lamination. Multiple fabric layers can be applied by repeating these steps. Cleaning of tools should be done with solvents like xylene or methyl ethyl ketone, observing all safety precautions.
